Search Method

The Digital Library of the "Hristo Botev" National Library in Bosilegrad, based on the ResCarta system, allows users simple, fast, and advanced search of digitized materials, including searching within the documents themselves.

Basic Search

Basic search is performed by entering a keyword in the search field. The system searches metadata – title, author, description, keywords, and other relevant information, displaying results that match the entered term.

Search within Text

One of the most important features of the Digital Library system is the ability to search within the text of digitized documents. Thanks to OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, users can:

📌 quickly locate parts of the text relevant to research
📌 review results with highlighted locations where the term appears

This function is particularly useful for academic work, research, and finding specific information in large collections.

Advanced Search

The Digital Library also allows advanced search by combining multiple criteria:

By combining these parameters, it is possible to more precisely define the query and obtain more relevant results.

Search by Collections

The materials are organized into digital collections, allowing users to browse content by thematic units, such as local heritage materials, old and rare books, periodicals, and more.

Viewing Results

Search results are displayed in a clearly structured format. For each document, basic information is available, and by selecting a result, the user can:
